I'm working on too many long-term knitting-projects. It's sort of depressing: I'm knitting and knitting but don't finish anything. That's why I decided to throw in a tiny wee project and knitted through The Quest yesterday (well and the last 30 minutes of In love with a witch and the first half of Genial daneben...)
this )

Is it a sign of obsession when as soon as I found a cool new TV-Show/book-series I search on Ravelry if there are already related knitting-patterns (or at least projects I can squee over) for it? About two third of the groups I'm in are fandom-related (and today I joined two more...guess wich)

Talking about obsessions: I'm falling more and more in love with Life (which doesn't have a Ravelry-group, yet :( ) I loved Charlie and Ted more or less from the first time they appeared but only know, when I'm rewatching some S1-epsiodes Ialso start to love the show...and everytime I watch an episode I get ths craving for fruits XD

try to spell the name of the actors right. Even when they had only small roles in the film and have names with a somehow difficult spelling...
but this is really riddiculous:

How many mistakes can you find?

But now some srs bsns...like memes!

Tell me you want to play and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms.
You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?

I've watched a few episodes of the Randall & Hopkirk (deceased)-Remake and I love it.
Other than the original series it doesn't try to be serious (which probably isn't a bad idea considering it's about two private investigators of whom one got killed in the first episode but returned as ghost...). It has stupid B-Movie-plots with B-movie-cliche-villians who die gory B-movie-deaths. And all with a great regular-cast (OK, I actually didn't know the two guys who play Randall & Hopkirk but it has Emilia Fox as Jeannie and TOM BAKER) and a lot of well-known guest-actors (who usually play very evil and very mad villians and die very bloddy deaths)

I've just watched Sherlock - The Case of Evil and propably had the best laugh since weeks. Seriously. It even beat Peter Davison driving the French cook mad. It's one of these 'Canon? That's a great big gun, right?'-films with James D'Arcy as Holmes and Roger Morlidge as Watson. Actually with D'Arcy as 20something-Holmes (who looked like Matt Smith about 16 years old).
The Plot-synopsis sounded already...questionable...and the only reason why I watched it, was because Richard E. Grant played Mycroft!!!111!!!

I only wanted to look if there were any episodes of The Champions. There is. It's neither the one with Brett and Delgado nor the one with Nicholas Courtney but I think I'll watch it anyway, just to have a good laugh.
But I found other amusing clips:

It is somehow weird that this is the first time I've heard Moore's original voice...I mean I've watched and rewatched The Persuaders over and over but always only in German (didn't want to miss all the jokes and subtext).

Also: I actually remember this episode of The Saint:

I watched it before I started with Doctor Who...or at least before I watched any 2nd Doctor episodes so I didn't recognise Troughton (and I think if I didn't knew I'd still have troubles...the recorder's missing...as well as a certain good looking and damn hot guy in a kilt).

On a completely unrelated matter: I can finally see my invisibility-shawl growing! It get's longer and longer and I LOVE it. I finally got used to the pattern and now I don't need a whole All Creatures-episode for six rows!
I've nearly used the whole first skein (at this moment I prefer to ignore that I still have a 2nd skein of yarn from happy urigayan merino-sheep I'll also have to knit up...)

Best wishes to[info]mcgarrygirl78
Have an awesome day!
As present a *cough* little picspam of an actor we both love: Derek Jacobi :D
(of course everybody else on my f-list can enjoy it, too ^^)
And yes it will totally kill your dial-up-modem. It is HUGE and I mean HUGE!

So here we have some caps from the Cadfael-Series...or rather the first episode, that play with the Dane and Revenger's Tragedy )

And because I was doing some Jacobi-Caps of RT anyway and think the movie is aweseome and has lots of amazing actors now some other caps for the not-so-Jacobi-obsessed part of my f-list.

Seen already a while ago at [info]mcgarrygirl78

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie (or call one up from your memory).
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. THAT'S CHEATING!!!

I had to be a bit 'creative' with picking the movies as I didn't want to use the same ten as in the last meme...not all are real 'favourites'. Some I've watched only once but was quite impressed anyway. (And yes, I've used the term 'movie' a bit loosely here...I had to.)

Here we go )

ETA: Some Tipps to confuse you even more

#1 Is about Irish History, the actor who played the title-role also appeared in #17 (and one of the side-characters appeared in #10 and #17)

#2 Is a comedy. One of the two leading actors also appeared in #16 and a side-character in #10

#5 is the movie-adaption of a play

One of the actors from #12 also appeared in #17 (Hey it's not my fault that about 75% of all famous british actors appeared either in Gosford Park or Love Actually)

#12 is a romantic comedy...again with an actor from Love Actually

#13 is another Irish movie, which I already had in my last movie-meme and nobody guessed it...oh and one actress from it also appeared in Gosford Park

#14 is a very silly but fery funny German comedy that parodies certain old b/w-movies

#15 has a clue about the title in the quote

ETA 2: OK, now only the geek-movies are left XD, in the remaining movies are two Doctors...three if you count non-canonical ones

So I eventually decided to spent more money on amazon and buy the DVDs 'A Revenger's Targedy' and 'The Hanging Gale'.

Facts that made me buy 'A Hanging Gale':
  • It is set in Ireland and has lots of beautiful pictures of the irish Landscape, people with irish accents, people talking in Irish, and people singing
  • it is set in the 1840s, that means great costumes
  • it is about 4 brothers. I love stories about brothers.
  • The brothers are played by Joe, Mark, Paul, and Steven McGann
It also has a plot: a lot of bad and tragic things happen because of people doing stupid things or simply because it's irish history, which is always full of tragic events.

now I'll also start one with 'movies watched in 2009'. I won't set any unrealistic goals like 50 because I seriously doubt I'll manage that. Not with so many cool series I watch.
I count only 'real' movies, not even series, like Horatio Hornblower or Cadfael that have 90 minute-episodes and only stuff I've watched for the first time.
March is perhaps a bit late to start with but I think I still remember everything, or at least most of it (and if I've forgotten something it was probably, because it was so bad that I wanted to forget it).

...a little picspam...OK perhaps not so little.
It's about 'I Claudius', a British series from the 70s that features the young Derek Jacobi as Claudius...and young Jacobe is really really cute, especially as Claudius. Besides him it has also lots of other amazing characters/actors, but let's start with him.
